Bay Ridge Community Development Center has partnered with several organizations; such as, Islamic Relief USA, Turkish American National Steering Committee (TASC), and the NYC Mayor’s Office to provide the community of South Brooklyn with fresh produce, groceries, hot meals, meal packs, and much more.
Every weekend, BRCDC’s volunteers distribute fresh produce and non-perishable groceries that feeds 400-500 families per week in Bay Ridge as a part of the Pandemic Food Reserve Emergency Distribution Program (P-FRED) in response to the COVID-19 public health crisis.
Overall, BRCDC has distributed 5,000 hot meals, 6000 lbs of meat, 1,000 food boxes, 250+ turkeys and over 10,000 meal packs in partnership with Islamic Relief USA. Additionally, in partnership with TASC, BRCDC was able to distribute 350 food boxes with the help from members of TASC and BRCDC’s volunteers. We are continuing to service the community and look forward to future food distributions as a part of our program.
Weekly Food Distribution
In partnership with the Mayor’s Office, Bay Ridge Community Development Center began distributing fresh produce and non-perishable food to more than 400 families in the community in regards to the COVID-19 public health crisis in which the Pandemic Food Reserve Emergency Distribution Program (P-FRED) was established. Food pantries around the city have been funded to provide food to community members in need. BRCDC is proud to have been servicing our community since the summer of 2021, along with our spectacular volunteers, every Saturday starting at 11am. We are grateful to the community of Bay Ridge for their support.
