Mohamed Elnashar

Mohamed is the Executive Director of the Islamic Society of Bay Ridge, located in the heart of South Brooklyn.  He graduated from the prestigious University of Alexandria located in Egypt with a degree in the field of science.  However, his true passion of service to the underprivileged led him to travel the globe and work across continents for various organizations.  This strong commitment to helping others has led to a career in non-profit service spanning over 25 years.  Mohamed has assisted in the foundation and development of organizations such as, Islamic Society of Bay Ridge, Arab-American Federation, and Manara Institute, just to name a few.  Mohamed is most proud of his work on sustainability projects across the globe, such as:

  • Economic empowerment through agriculture and cattle (Europe)

  • Hearing Aid Program for Refugees (Jordan, Middle East)

  • Quit Smoking Program (New York City, USA)

  • Food Distribution with NYC Food Banks (New York City, USA)

  • Clinic for all (New York City, USA)

Establishing BRCDC has been a long time goal that Mohamed is truly excited about since it will be the first of its kind to service the entire Bay Ridge community.  BRCDC represents the culmination of Mohamed’s dream and commitment to the service of others. 

Some of Mohamed’s hobbies include traveling and experiencing the different cultures of the world.  He is an avid swimmer.
